Iām a freelance journalist and editorial specialist based in Chattanooga, Tenn.
In my wheelhouse: public health; gardening and nature; localism and environmental issues; farming and food; parenting and family culture; and all manner of miscellany.
Publications and organizations I have written for include: The Washington Post, Johns Hopkins School of Public Health, the Chattanooga Times Free Press, the Trust for Public Land, and Great Minds. I was a daily newspaper reporter for five years, and I have a decade of experience in reporting in the Southeast. I hold an MFA in nonfiction writing, and teach nonfiction writing and journalism to college students. Karaoke is my love language. I like talking about the weather.
